Steve Case Experiences Matterport Virtual Reality at Atlanta Tech Village

Steve Case, founder of AOL and Chair and CEO of Revolution, stopped by the We Get Around office at Atlanta Tech Village today (7 May 2015) to experience a Matterport Virtual Reality (VR) demo.

It's been a while since I had lunch with Steve. So, it was nice to chat with him again.

Matterport is the company and 3D and VR platforms that We Get Around uses to power our 3D WalkAround Tours like these (and coming soon) 3D Virtual Reality tours.

After experiencing VR Showcase Beta, I asked Steve for an introduction to Philippe Bourguignon, Vice Chairman, Revolution Places and CEO, Exclusive Resorts whom invests in unique real estate and hospitality opportunities, including wellness resorts and spas and residential real estate development.

Seems like our 3D – and coming soon VR – Tours are a perfect fit for helping people make confident decisions about booking, buying and staying Revolution places. And, with our Network of hundreds of Matterport Pro Photographers around the globe, we can offer Revolution Places one point of contact to book all their properties.

Steve is in Atlanta today for the Rise of the Rest Road Trip to celebrate entrepreneurship across America.

"[Today] encompasses a tour of local startups, meetings with civic leaders, and culminates in a fireside chat, pitch competition where on local startup will receive $100,000 investment from Steve Case, and blowout party," according to this post by Atlanta Tech Village.

"We were eager to share the Virtual Reality solutions with Steve because of Revolution initiatives in travel, tourism, hospitality and luxury real estate," says Dan. "'Very cool" is how Steve described the VR viewing experience."

"In cities and towns across America, startup communities are gaining momentum and rising up as entrepreneurs find it easier to start a business, innovate, and create jobs," says the Rise of the Rest Road Trip website. "We want to celebrate and celebrate this 'Rise of the Rest' so the next wave of American entrepreneurship brings growth and prosperity all over the country."
