Matterport Pro 3D Camera Photographers have created a community around the Matterport platform for capturing, creating and sharing 3D and VR tours of indoor static spaces.

One year ago today – 26 August 2014 – We Get Around launched the Matterport User Group Forum (and shortly afterwards, its Referral Network of Matterport Pro 3D Camera Photographers and Real Estate Agents.

In the last 30 days, we've had:

  • 55,000 page views from
  • 15,000 visits of
  • 6,000 posts among
  • 600 thread topics
In the last 30 days (as of 25 August 2015), Matterport User Group Forum posts were viewed 55,000 times among 6,000 posts among 600 thread topics likes these.

The Forum has nearly 500 members. We typically have 3-4 times as many daily visits by non-members. We have as many as 800+ daily visitors to the Forum. Today, we're growing at the rate of 76 new members a month.

Our vision a year ago is the same today, "a community of Matterport users getting help and helping others with Matterport capture, creation and sharing. ... Thank you for joining MUG on this journey into the future – today!"

Both our Forum and Referral Network are powered by Ninja Post. whom we are immensely grateful. (Thanks @mikew)

A community – a movement – needs the early adopters, so, special thanks to our first dozen Matterport Pro 3D Camera Photographers to join our Forum:

On a personal note about all the new (coming soon) Matterport Showcase 2.0 announced earlier this month, it was gratifying to receive this email from Matterport Founder Matt Bell Wednesday (12 August 2015): "Your forum members' feedback was very helpful in helping us choose and prioritize features for Showcase 2.0. It's great to have a passionate group of users who are eager to help shape the product."

While Forum members are a cranky bunch at times, we all love Matterport (that's why we are early adaptors) AND we want the Matterport platform to be even better IMMEDIATELY.

So, while we are quick to point out the slightest pimple, I'm sure Matterport knows that are hearts are all in the right place. We (all) just would like the future to arrive sooner (please).

Join us as we raise our MUG to thank you (all) for helping create a robust and passion community of visionaries.

Before you bought your Matterport Pro 3D Camera, did you read Forum blog posts? Once you got your Matterport Camera, did you read the Forum? Have you joined the Forum and the conversation? Then, please post to this thread.

Now its time to plan for our first 1st Annual International Matterport User Group Forum Meetup to coincide with the annual IVRPA conference in Québec City, Monday, 23 May through Friday, 27 May 2016.

See you there!
