We Get Around Founder, CEO and Chief Photographer Dan Smigrod created the We Get Around Referral Network of Matterport Pro 3D Camera Photographers and Real Estate Agents to make it super-easy and super-fast to find a Matterport Pro 3D Camera Photographer – or Real Estate Agent.

Here Dan's list of 101 Reasons NOT to Join the Referral Network ...

#32 I would rather make cold calls to potential clients.

#32 I would rather make cold calls to potential clients.

  1. I already have more clients than I can handle.
  2. I have enough revenue.
  3. I do not like in-bound emails/phone calls from potential clients.
  4. I am the only Matterport Pro in my area (and it is unlikely I will ever have competition).
  5. I see many Matterport Pros on the map in my area; and no one wants to be first. I'll wait until someone else is first. I do not want an unfair competitive advantage.
  6. There is at least one Matterport Pro on the Referral Network map in my area so all hope is lost. I will lower my prices to win business.
  7. I am happy with the size properties I capture.
  8. I am happy with the kind of spaces I capture.
  9. I am happy with the rates I charge and the amount of business that I have.
  10. I am only interested in real estate clients in my market (and the agents and brokers all know me).
  11. I am not interested in 101 other uses for Matterport 3D Showcases: just residential real estate listings because agents pay top dollar for all their photography services.
  12. The lifetime value of a new client is not worth the monthly membership of the Referral Network.
  13. I do not like to be a member of any group that will have me.
  14. I do not like making things easy for myself.
  15. I already get tons of in-bound, high-quality emails from prospective clients.
  16. I only budgeted for the camera and related gear. I do not have a budget for growing my business.
  17. I am just starting out. I do not have any 3D Showcases yetHow do I get my first client?
  18. I do not receive points from my credit card company for Joining the Referral Network and paying my monthly membership by credit card.
  19. I do not want to make it easy for potential clients to find me.
  20. I only use the Matterport camera for our real estate listings: no other categories of business.
  21. My dog ate my homework.
  22. Seems like the Founder of the MUG Forum and Referral Network should offer this service for free.
  23. I do not offer any other related services for prospective clients,
  24. Thousands and thousands of people are looking at the Referral Network map, but probably not in my city.
  25. Only Forum members look at the Referral Network map: not prospective clients.
  26. I will wait until their is a MUG Forum post: Matterport Photographer Wanted: [My City] so all Pros in my city are alerted at the same time.
  27. I do not believe that 3-4 times as many non-members are are looking at the MUG Forum (and Referral Network map).
  28. I do not believe that only one person has canceled their Referral Network membership (because he sold his camera).
  29. I do not need the business expense tax deduction for Joining.
  30. It's too easy to Join. Members should have to jump through hoops.
  31. I am not worthy of new business.
  32. I would rather make cold calls to prospective clients.
  33. I do not see value in being an early adopter.
  34. I do not want to be profiled like Referral Network Members AyaEdCarlosMarciaStuartCathiePaolo, etc.
  35. I am too good to Join Now.
  36. I am not good enough to Join Now.
  37. I am waiting for a sign from heaven.
  38. When I ask a Referral Network Member in another city, they tell me "Join Us." If I ask other Pros in my market, they say, "Bad Idea. Do NOT Join."
  39. I do not like monthly payments. I would rather pay a year in advance and not be able to cancel at anytime.
  40. I will Join Now only if I can have an exclusive like I offered my clients.
  41. Many others have not Joined yet; so it must be a bad idea: just like all my potential clients that are waiting for others to use 3D Showcases. There's no advantage of being among the first.
  42. I will wait until the sun, moon and the stars align.
  43. I am waiting for an invitation on a silver, gold or platinum plater.
  44. Since I am not busy, I would rather spend my money on more Matterport Camera gear and accessories.
  45. I do not like the Referral Network map push pin colors.
  46. I do not like the Referral Network map push pin shape.
  47. I do not like the Referral Network map push pin size.
  48. I do not believe it that I can cancel at anytime.
  49. Membership should come with a money-back guarantee: like I offer with my clients for their Matterport 3D Showcases.
  50. I can not decide between the three membership plans.
  51. The Referral Network should be free. I do not charge for my services.
  52. What if I go 12 months and I only get one new client?
  53. What if I go 12 months and I do not get one new client? That's a huge risk for $19 a month.
  54. What if the world is really flat?
  55. The Referral Network was started by the same person that started the Matterport User Group Forum (that only gets 55,000+ page views monthly) He doesn't have a clue how to create value.
  56. The Referral Network was started by the same person that started a Matterport service provider business. So, he doesn't know a thing about how hard it is to build a Matterport service provider business.
  57. The founder of the Referral Network does not care about helping me grow my business. Just because I can cancel at any time doesn't mean that he has an incentive to deliver value to members to keep them happy.
  58. Why should it be super-easy and super-fast for prospective clients to find me?
  59. I have heard that nearly all We Get Around Referral Network Contact Us and Matterport Pro Wanted leads are referred to members on the Referral Network map within two hours. I do not believe that "50 percent of sales goes to the first salesperson to contact the lead." (Slide 11)
  60. Prospective clients will find me.
  61. Prospective clients should work harder to find me rather than just looking at my profile on the Referral Network map.
  62. I do not charge enough to pay for marketing.
  63. My prices are so low, prospective clients will find me. Pricing my services like a commodity is a great marketing strategy to win new business.
  64. I am waiting for everyone to know about me from our existing clients. My clients like telling their competitors about me.
  65. I get enough referrals now from our existing clients.
  66. It sounds too good to be true that another Matterport Pro is trying to help other Matterport Pros to succeed.
  67. Prospective clients will eventually find me.
  68. I only do one 3D Showcase for each client, so the monthly membership does not pay for itself.
  69. The risk is too high to experiment with a monthly membership that I can cancel at any time.
  70. When prospects Google "Matterport Photographer" ... I always show-up among the top search results.
  71. When prospects Google "Matterport Photographer in my city" ... I always show-up among the top three results.
  72. I do not like that another Matterport Pro makes money helping other Matterport Pros succeed.
  73. I have a full-time business develop team.
  74. I am too busy trying to develop business to take ten minutes to Join Now and set up my Referral Network profile.
  75. I do not want a competitive advantage. That's not fair.
  76. I would rather save the money because I am not making enough money to Join Now.
  77. It just seems too easy.
  78. So what if I can cancel at anytime. The risk seems too great to try something new.
  79. Cold calling is a fun way to develop business. It's easy.
  80. Cold calling is effective for me and a good use of my time.
  81. Cold calling doesn't cost me anything and since I am not busy, I have lots of time to cold call.
  82. I would be surprised if anyone actually gets business from being a member, so why should I Join Now to find out.
  83. If I am the first to Join Now in my area; others will Join too. So, I do not want to be first.
  84. I do not like potential clients to reach out to me directly. I only like leads from people I know.
  85. I am really good with content marketing, so I show-up high in Google search.
  86. I will eventually be busy enough that I can wait to be successful.
  87. I enjoy having lots of free time. Getting more clients scares me.
  88. I can succeed without help.
  89. I would rather charge rock-bottom prices to help generate new business.
  90. Hope is my business development strategy.
  91. I will wait until I have many great examples. How do I get clients to have many great examples?
  92. I would rather struggle on my own to figure-out how to develop business.
  93. $19 per month is way too much. I do not charge enough to afford that.
  94. $19 per month is way too little. I can not imagine that it will help market my business. What if I only get one new client?
  95. I do not have the time to ask Members of the Referral Network if they are happy with the results. I am too busy prospecting.
  96. I am the only one that looks at the "push pin" profiles on the map.
  97. I am focused on being a Matterport Pro. I do not have time to work on marketing to get new business.
  98. The Referral Network cost per lead is too high..
  99. The Referral Network cost per conversion is too high.
  100. For $19 a month, there are a ton of other ways that I can market my business.
  101. The life-time value of one new client is not worth $19 per month.
